Eheim 2217... good machine?

Oh and thanks for the recommendation, i'll look into it! :)

You're not going to find a longer lasting or more quiet filter out there. Plus they come with media now. My only complaint is they are a bit low on the flow side in regards to what they're rated, but I have one 2217 running my 90 gallon by itself. On a 20 gallon it should be great.

Ok, my question is, could i plumb it through a marina slim hob? will the flow be adequate, or too much? why i want to do this? i dunno.. :) but im curious if I could.

I think the canister is going to function better using the stock connections. Also, you have to realize that in a lot of Amano pictures that the equipment is removed before the photos are taken. They don't actually look like that.

I never got to disguise the plumbing (paint it black first off) as well as I would have liked and it needs a few rocks but you get the idea. :) I just sold that tank though.

Wow, the more I see aquariums of this style, the more I want to make one myself! Both your aquarium and Redearsunfish's aquarium are inspiring.

I'm definitely adding this to my ever-growing "To Do" list!
