Adjustment period? (new L264)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Few pics of the latest addition: (1) L-326 leporacanthicus, about 2.5". Not great pictures...water is cloudy right now (treating with melafix/pimafix...one of the silver dollars had body fungus on it).

Its now contending with the L-114 and L-264 for the same territory...this might get interesting

The dark spot on the right side inbetween the two rocks is the L-114, the L-264 is somewhere under the middle of the rock. (L-326 at bottom of pic). pic taken with flash off

flash on (notice the L-264 just to the left of the L-326's tail).

So much for being territorial, 3 of my 4 plecos choose to call this one 12" x 10" rock their home. I wonder what the pecking order is :D

EDIT:

hahaha, that was quick. After posting this I walked by the tank and in the corner of my eye caught some quick movement near the pleco rock, upon closer inspection, it was the landlord evicting the new tenant :( lol Man that L-264 has some nasty looking teeth.

Well its hard to tell...

The L-264 and L-114 share that rock in the 2nd picture. I'm not sure if the L-264 is unwilling or unable to send the L-114 packing (even at its small size, I can see some nasty looking armor on the L-114). The L-114 spends most of its time under that rock wedged in places that the L-264 might be too big to get to...

When the L-264 chased out the L-326...thats pretty much the first "get the heck out of my territory" aggression i've seen, but even that didn't last long, and the L-326 still hangs out inbetween that piece of driftwood and the front entrance to that rock tunnel.

I like the L-326, didn't take him long at all to start grazing on shrimp pellets/massivore/etc. It doesn't really graze out in the open like the L-14 does, but its still fairly active and is less shy than the L-264 and L-114 (which I rarely get a good glimpse of).

I took a couple quick pics of the L-326 this morning (with better focus/more zoomed in) than the other recent pics. I'll probably post 'em tonight...
