  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well for now its clean, came with a scoop and its what he is used to,dont want to freak him out any more than I have already.Ill be wanting to move him to a larger habitat in the next few months anyway, especially if he grows, its a 30 long tank,12x36" that is actually an upgrade he moved into about 2 years ago.

reccomendations on any other vitamin supplements he should be getting?

The only one you need is zoomed´s reptivite;)

Ok he got over the reluctance to eat the dusted crickets, the rest dissapeared while I was feeding the fish.

Hes eating his veggies now looks good!
No photos yet,I have no camera skills...and no camera my wife takes photos for me,she started a new job yesterday and had too much to do last night to get photos for me,Im leaving for work now maybe I can get her to get some photos tonite.or when I see her in the morning.

Ok got a few photos tonite, she didnt take photos last night cause he was sleeping and she got all freaked that he was dead:grinno:
Hopefully now that he is on a day night cycle he will start sleeping at night instead of just randomly passing out.
I found the heat pad and put on the bottom of the tank,I checked the sand a few times and its slightly warmer over the pad not enough to injure anything.I had the plugged in pad stuck to my hand for a while this morning and it seems to be pretty safe for now. With that the tank should hopfully stay above 60 at night and the poor beastie can sleep in the dark.
I know I have a high quality heatlamp around here somewhere Ill hopefully be able to find it monday when Im home most of the day.
So here he is as I said surprisingly small for his age but looks healthy to my untrained eye.

From the last photo looks to be in shed... warm baths will help loosen the scales up, it is generally stated not to pull on the shed even if it's about to come off, let the animal do it. Warm baths and massages help loads.

Are you sure it's a male? head shape seems very female to me. If you can lay him in your hand, face away from you, lift the tail and have your wife take some photos of the cloaca area we could get a good idea. One centered bump above the cloaca is female, two ovals is a male. (remember, this is above if you're holding him facing away from you, and lifting the tail.) And don't be fooled by Femoral Pores on the legs, which I have noted in single living/dominate females.

Yes he was just shedding when I got him,its mostly gone.I dont believe he has ever had a bath, any advice on introducing him to water the first time?
The previous owner said it was male,I took his word for it.Im not planning to breed so unless theres a difference in care it makes no difference to me.
