i dont think males are that redish color even juveniles. am i wrong? they grow into the blue yes but isnt usually a silvery tinge they get the blue from not a red/orange?

All young are the same in color as a female. General female coloration is a ruddy brown. Some females dull out with age becoming a grey-brown.
I'm looking at the more accurate coloration in the middle picture. The colors in the first and third are richer but all three clearly depict a juvenile red-top zebra.
Even females will show some red/orange coloration in the fins (dorsal specifically) as they are red-top type zebras. Males develop blue coloration and intense red/orange in the fins and this coloration begins when they start to sexually mature which is anywhere between 2.5 and 3.5". Subdominant males (when housed with hyperdominant males) may retain female coloration even longer.
The blue ridges to the dorsal and ventrals are good indicators that the fish is male but not a 100% reliable.
