So my calico con pair and salvini pair spawned at the same time 9 days ago. The calico fry became free swimming after a week and the salvini fry took 9 days to become free swimming. My salvini pair are so skittish that they won't protect their fry from anything besides other salvini. Theyre even scared of a 2" krib and they're around 6". Since I want the salvini fry to survive I decided to put them with the calico fry with the parents still with them. Surprisingly the parents accepted the parents accepted the fry as their own. The salvini fry outnumber the calico fry probably by 20-1.

I'm just shocked that the salvini pair hasn't destroyed your convicts...when i had my pair they took on much bigger cichlids successfully

They're in different tanks. My salvini are too skittish. They can't even take on a 2" female krib. Idk why they're like that. How was ur setup with ur sals?

Salvini are shy/skittish compared the many other CA cichlids, however mine were in a 55 and were dominant, there was a big dempsey and a couple of big mbuna...that being said, not ideal obviously, i was in high school when i had that setup

Yeah. I'm actually gonna sell my sals cause I need more space. I'll just keep their fry and hope their not as skittish as their parents cause I'm gonna raise them.
