Adult Cichlids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
But yeah.... not sure why you would want to do that? Personally, I enjoy watching the fish go through the stages of their lives, and it is a HUGE plus when you get them to breed and can watch their parental habits.

my lfs sells the adult ones for like $20-30 if they go higher than that they don't sell... with the time and $ spent on feeding these guys you might end up wanted to keep them especially with african cichlids as it takes time to get them to fully color up and they get more interesting as adults too!!

I agree...I see LFS with the same fish in their tanks for a long time bec of the price or probably the size of the fish. ive had thoughts in the past about raising fish and selling them for more money when they get bigger...i end up keeping them.

last week i took my flowerhorn to my LFS and got store credit. gave him up because i wanted a prettier (higher grade) flowerhorn. broke my GF's heart and we actually just paid him a visit today LOL.

when it comes to africans though, the only time i gave up one was when i had this bada$$ red top zebra...just attacked every fish in the tank. i think its nice to see them grow and you'll probably get too attached to them as they grow.

1 yr from now you will probably be looking for a bigger tank instead :)
