where the corruption never ends
Hi everyone,I've been feeding my arowana with sinking pellets, superworms, and gold fishes lately, and since mine does eat sinking pellets that much, I just want to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of pellets and live feeders to arowanas since I want mine to grow healthy. He's now 12" and eats 2 gold fishes a day while I'm gut loading my superworms with nutrients.I don't know what kind of pellets my arowana's eating because it doesn't have a label on it.

sinking pellets - arowanas swims at the top and rarely goes down he might just miss the sinking and the result will be cloudy water.

feeders - not all of em are clean, some may carry diseases or parasites that eventually might kill your aro if left untreated.

super worms - havent encountered or heard anything cons. about it so its your best choice on the 3

but for the record there are arowana sticks that are best for them.

The thing is that, mine loves the sinking pellets so much that he almost left nothing for the Clown knife to eat, and he's not even bothered with the floating pellets.

if uit eats pellets, let it it the pellets. That is what all aro keepers dream about..

feeders, and goldfish at that, is a dangerous food.

Superworms are good, now and then, but have a very high fat contente.

Stick to pellets. Feed the Knife when it is dark.

i use to feed my jar bloodworms as a staple cause he wouldnt eat anything else, i fed him feeders maybe once a week. that wasnt really healthy for him so after a week or 2 hes finally eating pellets and im sooo damn happy! haha so yeah if your silver is eating pellets just stick to it and the superworms too i believe it has a good protein supply

you have to also be careful with super worms because I have heard of them actually eating through the stomach of fish if they are alive when consumed. i would cut off their heads before feeding.

Personally, for me, pellets are just cheaper and more convenient. I just recently got my hands on a bag of Hikari Cichlid Bio-Gold+ and I have to say it is awesome. I've been using just regular Hikari Cichlid Gold up till now because none of the stores here sell bio-gold, but both really enhance the colors of your fish. They float, which is also easier to clean up if my fish dont eat everything, just net out the extra pellets.

I think it's safe to say Hikari provides high quality pellets and if you take a look at the ingredients, you won't have any doubts. Pellets should be the main part of your aros diet to promote good health and everything else should be a treat.

if hes eating sinking pellets,
thats great.
get some that are real healthy for him.
feeders arent very nutritional or healthy.
superworms make your aro fat.
