I am picking up 2-3 corn snakes in October, I am used to python or boa babies, not itty bitty things. I am wondering what I would be able to house them in without them escaping.

Now here's where it gets difficult. I can't have aquariums, just don't have the space. I wouldn't mind a rack system but I wouldn't know where to start as far as building one goes.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The only thing I can think of would be something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Tom`s-Aquatics-Tom-Repti-House-Jumbo/dp/B001F95UUA

that is perfect. although can u get storage boxes out there? clear plastic boxes with clip on lids? we can get up to 64litre boxes here.
put some holes in them and they r perfect for life.
all of my snakes except my burm are currently in boxes.
stick on a heat mat and hey presto. sorted.

Yea we have them and that's what all my current snakes are in, but the only ones I can find around here don't stay tight enough and make me worry. They can be opened like 1/4 of an inch even with the clips on them so I'm afraid a tiny baby could just slip through, or am I worrying over nothing?

Thanks so much for your advice :)

I would suggest the storage boxes, thats what me and my buddy have all our babies in. 6qts work great for babies and I havnt had one escapee yet. If you're worried about them getting out though you can always buy those big black clips at an office supply store that are used to hold a ton of papers together and those will keep the sides from lifting

Good tip! And for like $2 it's worth trying before going for the $14 each things. Thanks so much. Do you have a picture or a brand name for the boxes that you are using so I can set it up the same way?

I've seen that, thanks. But the one's I'm getting wouldn't even be anywhere close to that ones size or power level. Also, a friend of mine uses the ones I posted to keep mice in. If they can't break/chew out then I would say the cages would work. I don't know though. As soon as they are big enough they would go into large sterilite bins and not be put in critter keepers again after that. I think I might try the clips on the 6 quart sterilites and see how that will work though.

I would go with chloe. This is what happens if you keep snakes in critter keepers:

rubbermaid storage boxes are great and can be found in walmart or similar stores. just be sure that it is secure and the snake cannot get out. A good way to test this is to try and get through a crevasse with your finger and if you feel like you could get your finger through it (even if it would skin your finger) then it is not safe for snakes. lock it down tight.
