I would go with chloe. This is what happens if you keep snakes in critter keepers:

rubbermaid storage boxes are great and can be found in walmart or similar stores. just be sure that it is secure and the snake cannot get out. A good way to test this is to try and get through a crevasse with your finger and if you feel like you could get your finger through it (even if it would skin your finger) then it is not safe for snakes. lock it down tight.

Someone already posted that link, thanks. That's the problem with all of the tubs I have found around here. I have tried every one at target and I can get my finger in. I don't know how to lock it down other than the suggestion I was given for the black clip things from office stores, but I can only think that would be a pain to bother with all of the time, especially if I end up getting more than 2 or 3 babies. Is there any other suggestions for keeping them tight? Or something else that would work? I wouldn't think a baby corn would be able to bust out of a critter keeper until they are the size of that one, maybe I'm wrong though. If I can think of a way to keep the storage boxes closed then I would do it though as I much rather have those.

beat me to it! i read the first post thinking of that.

as far as good enclosures, this would work^

I used zip ties but bulldog clips (the black ones) would probably work better. It may be a pain but it isn't as much of a pain as searching the house for a pencil sized snake. Trust me.

Yea, I know how it is looking for baby snakes the size of pencils. I have done it before. That is why I am asking how I am going to prevent that. I am thinking that I am just going to get some adults instead. I really don't trust the storage bins for small snakes the size of pencils. It just sounds like trouble waiting to happen unless you have a rack system. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

okay, good luck and keep us posted!

I will for sure, who knows maybe I'll find someone who is handy with tools and can put a rack together for me or something like that. We will see though :) I really do appreciate all of the advice, it's just I can't risk losing a snake here. I am not supposed to have them in the building (oops) so I really don't want to try anything that isn't pretty much fail proof. Thanks so much guys :)

lol your in florida....u can get away with it being a wild corn lol

i know your not a started but i think the best advice someone gave me when i was looking at starting in the hobby was:

"if a royal gets out chances are u will find it pretty quickly, they will just go to the nearest darkest warmest place.
if a corn gets out thats it, game over"

sooooo true lol

tbh the ones with the clips on the sides have worked fine for me but they dont seem to have any space round the sides.
not sure if yours are diff :-s

omg that link was horrible!!!! wouldnt have even though that was possible!

Well I could get away with it being a 'wild' corn but I'm not going for the normal morphs. I'm looking for a butter and a blood red, but we'll see. I have never seen the ones you posted over here. All of the ones in the nearby stores have a gap that I can easily get a pencil through so I know a baby corn would have no issues. One of my friends keeps mice in the critter keepers and none have them have ever broken or chewed out, that's why I figured a baby corn would be fine in one but apparently not :irked:

oh oh oh oh oh oh could u put mesh over the critter keeper vent bits???

yea but how many people have released corns in to the wild....thats my excuse and im sticking to it lol

Probably a lot unfortunately. I found this shoe rack thing that can fit the regular plastic bins like you showed me so I'm gonna buy one (they're like $10) and see if I can fashion some sort of ghetto rack system out of it. If it doesn't work then oh well, I have a new shoe rack and an excuse to buy more shoes :)
