Advice for beginner fish owner thinking about Pirahnas

Hi carn1vorous, you can start a new thread if you have any questions regarding piranhas.
to answer your questions, there's not fix schedule or food type and it's different from people to people. if you can get them on pellets then you can use that as stable diet, or mainly use white fish as stable diet. other meat type such as chicken or lean beef/beef heart, etc can be used every once a while if you want to use them. there's really no set rules about it, just mix things up and variety is the key.

Thanks :) I have a few more questions to that, but I will just start a thread for it.

Hey guys, I have been looking on Craiglist, found a few things I'm looking at in 125 gallon range. Found one that seems really cheap to me, but I really haven't gotten good pics in order to go check out. Attached are the pics the guy sent me, after a couple requests because his first ones I couldn't tell anything from it. From pics it looks like Stand might be messed up, but tank OK. It seems that stands can be found fairly cheap, so this could be replaced, correct? Just wanted your opinions. I saw some definitely better shape ones, but much more expensive. How do you really tell which are the best things to get?

Some stand made of kapor or chengai wood are quality stiuff and dont come cheap!! at least not cheap in Singapore. some scrubbing and repainting will do the job :)

125 would be a good place to start into the hobby I wish I would of bought a bigger tank initially. You should look into buying about 10 juvenile red belly piranha (pygocentrus natteri) and you should end up with about 6. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but 6 adult rbp would be abou the correct amount for a 125?

the stand looks like a DIY one but is it me or the stand is wider than the tank?

you really can't tell much from pictures aside from what it may look like. go see it in person check all the silicon seams to see if they are still good, if the stand feel strong and sturdy. look through the glasses carefully to see if there's any chip, scratches that you don't like, crap, etc. check the braces to see if it's.
If you can I would recommend looking for a 180g, 125g is not a bad tank to start with but the extra 6" width on a 180g is also good, it gives you more options on what kind of fish you can keep.
