Plants will not remove enough nitrates to alleviate water changes when feeding a load of arowanas.

You should never use nitrate removal chemicals as it just messes with the bacteria.

As someone said for a tank that size and number of arowana eating carnivorous food should be 50% twice a week for water changes.

Can I suggest you stop buying anymore fish and look on the stickies on here and on youtube at how to cycle using a fishless cycle.

I don't mean to be rude but you need to understand the basics of aquarium maintenance before starting something like an aro comm set up!!

You also need to ensure that your filter and bacteria is capable of handling the number of fish you have. Bacteria grows to the amount of waste produced, so is its working for one fish, and you then add 7 more arowanas, them the filter cant cope. Its sometimes best to gradually introduce fish to allow for the cycle. Something else you should research.
