The local pet store called me last week and asked if I wanted a parrot fish which a customer brought in for it had outgrown their tank. I put it in the 150 gallon tank which already housed parrots and severums of similar size. The new parrot immediately started bumpimg the other fish around and I could see some irritations above it's mouth. It also started to loose it's color for it would not eat the color enhanced foods I feed them. I did my normal water change a couple days later and today it was very slow moving so I tranferred the fish to a smaller tank. Things only got worse and this evening it died.
I am puzzelled to what went wrong. The only thing I can think of is that the other fish were all used to the tank for I raised them from a 1-2" fish to their present size of 6". I would like to know what I can do next time if this happens and hopefully prevent this from happening again.
