Advice on a paper: School Violence + Violent Music

working on it......bla It's only due in June 20th i have all my portfolio done just need an essay.

I'm filling in application forms at the moment that's like a bloody essay.

No joke...I landed a job about a month ago. I started looking in November. Filled out 50+ apps, went on dozens of interviews....It is an extremely draining process.

i would touch upon another issue which i feel is much more detrimental to society..... and that is how the media glorifies bad behavior... ie be violence... stupidity.... laziness.... or just plain self intrest.... we will never have another socrates or plato.... instead we got paris hilton.... and kanye west (though i like some of his music) its scary how careless the media is in promoting panic and prestige...... look at the whold swine flu issue..... and octomom..... nuff said....

i agree...more then violence in movies or violence in the lyrics in a song.. is the media hype at violence... always more negative then positive on the news.. and many people are increasingly depressed that are influenced by it.

apparantly 150 people go for each teaching assistant position at hlta status.

Who they gonna employ a 19yr old know it all or a 50yr old woman whos popped out 30kids? grrr lol This is the only job I know thet bases their knowledge on life experience when i personally know loads of bad parents ( most of them on my course ) i'm the only person on my course who doesn't have a child.

I have learnt all about children through voluntary,paid work and have learnt through the school policies the proper way things should be dealt with yet I get ignored because I havn't decided to get preg?

lol grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr how annoyed am I ??!?!?! lol

Hey guys,

I have a 12 pager due in 2 days, and I have been so swamped with other work that I am just now starting on it. Need some ideas as far as what direction to go in this paper.

As of right now, the argument for my paper is: Violent themes are extremely prevalent in today's lyrics. However, these themes do not cause school violence. Rather, the problem is the adolescents' inability to decipher between entertainment and real life.


How I plan on approaching this paper:

Brief overview of my argument.
Address the violent themes in music (heavy metal and rap primarily)
State again the idea that the adolescents can't decipher the difference
Address the fact that violence is prevalent everywhere in today's society (through cartoons, movies, shows, every music, etc), and that if the violence in music is truly a cause for school violence, then the other violent media is also to blame.
Discuss how entertainers are able to tell the deference between real life and their work.
Conclusion



Any advice/ideas of what else I should include?

as far as adolescents deciphering what the hear, read, see, and absorb on a daily basis can effect them depending on there parent's how they were taught. I think most violence stem's from a lack of parenting and a child's wanting to fit in and when a parent doesn't reflex a good value they'll lean towards, gang's, drugs, drinking, and violence as a feeling of belonging and family. Most people I know in my life that struggled with violence and anger all stemmed from there up bringing ( Dad being drunk all the time, or no parent's living with grandparent's cause there parent's party too much) It's a shame so many youth's out there have no one but violence and insecurity to turn to from a lack of love and family. Pointing violence to entertainment, music, video games, etc... Is an easier out then the obvious cause how can you control parenting? Most violent act's are carried out by disturbed people and they alway's well 99.9% have no parent's or came from a broken home or were abused. The fate of our youth is in our educator's, neighbor's, etc... to reach out to the lonely kid or foster them. I just pray for thing's to be good for all and peace for our youth.
