Hi I just won a betta at a local fair and have a few extra tanks so I thought I would try breeding them. I am a total NOOB to breeding and have no idea what to do. So I have a couple of questions. What do u feed the babies, how long does it take for them to hatch, and just plain old what to do. Also any other advise is appreciate. Thanks

Here is a pic of the betta

Breeding bettas are very hard no matter what expert makes it look easy. Put a clear diviider in the 10g or spare tank and then put half a solo cup just above the wwater line. Then wjen the male betta makes a bubblenest youu release the female. She will firtalize them.

I thought the male sqeezes the eggs out the female. Arent you sposed to separate them for about 2weeks then let them do there thing.

Title:breeding bettas

Purpose:to breed bettas.

Hypothesis:it is predicted we will breed bettas.

Materials needed:male betta,female betta,2x2.5 gal(or larger) ,5gal(or larger),red solo cup,light,cup for female.

Steps: 1.set up 2x2.5g tanks(or larger)

2.put male in one tank
3.put female in other
4.show them to each other 3x a day for 5minutes each time for 2 weeks
5.setup 5gal(or larger)
6.put male in 5gal
7.tape a red solo cup cut in half at water line
8.put female in cup so male can see her an build nest
9.when nest is built release female
10.wait for them to finish
11.take female out and put her back in a 2.5 (or larger)with meds
12.wait for eggs to turn Ito free swimming fry
13. Remove male

Data:babies were made
Calculations:male+female=babies

Conclusion:my hypothesis was correct and I got babies from breeding my bettas.

This should be good enough.

I've bred them once and I had a 10gl with a sponge and left both in for about a week took the female out the day after I seen the bubble nest but I had trouble keeping the fry cause I didn't have small enough foods
