Advice on my shark options

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for the photos and video clip, the Coral Cats do look quite a bit better when they fill out some...more shark like so to speak. Also if the Coral Cat in the video is anywhere close to max size he should have plenty of room in my aquarium.

Stopped by my LFS on the way home from work last night and inquired about ordering a shark and he seemed to think that his distributor can get Arabian Bamboos as he says he has seen them there a couple times a year...not common by any stretch but doable.

So if the distributor can come through, I would be looking at 1 Arabian Bamboo and 1 Coral Catshark.

Anyone know of any problems keeping these 2 together?

Also, the Brown Banded Bamboo seems to be in constant supply, as I fall back do you think my setup could support one comfortably? or is it pushing it too much to consider this species as well?

I have 3 brown banded bamboos. I plan a 1200 for them eventually, and plan on them to reach 4ft. So as long as you know that and are ready for it when the time comes why not.

Here it is. You can really fill these guys out and these really look like a leopard shark. A full grown marble is better looking then 80% of sharks. They are just so skinny when younger...

Btw - the Marbled Catshark in that video - is actually Coral Catshark. Even thru they may look alike - Marbled Catsharks tend to to have duller coloration with gray bands.

But Coral Cats are pretty cool sharks - one might say that they are perfect reef shark for private aquarists.

I have a 12" female Arabian that I would be willing to sell you. I've had her a year. She is from LA DD originally. PM me if interested. Also have a male PNG epaulette about 10 inches as well.
