Advice on SE Florida freshwater LFSs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you ever sneak over to the west coast Naples FLs Reynas Aquarium is a nice little shop, mostly cichlids and lots of oddballs. He's got a 2 ft+ RTC in there he's had for quite awhile.

Thanks much! Somehow I missed this one although I live ~7 miles away. Dah.

Orange dr davie fl a lot of the finger canals also in plantation there tons of lakes also of copans rd there snake heads fun to catch but very illegal

Thank you, again. What part is illegal? Catching snakeheads is not illegal AFAIK, you just cannot keep them alive (unless you have a proper FWC license) or let go but must kill them right away. Let's be careful and clear when talking about the "illegal" stuff. MFK is very strict about it and I don't want my thread to be shut down because of a misunderstanding. Please, do not take it as being ungrateful. I appreciate your input.

Thanks, Jonathan! I enjoy networking. I have to check out the stores our colleagues and you recommended some time first though and then go from there. There aren't many fish that I am interested in the wild there, it appears. P-bass and a snakehead - that may be all. I applied but not gotten my FWC permits for the snakeheads and other prohibited species yet. I have to erect my exhibits first, which is ongoing (I am working to open a Public Aquarium and Fish Rescue Center in Naples, FL).

If you need fish native / invasive I supply a lot of them for free to local places that display to the public if it's for a good cause I can supply a lot with cast nets and small lines or hand fishing and other old tricks old floridians taught me

Most appreciated offer. I might take you up on it when time's right, perhaps/likely within a year. The most fun would be to go collecting together; Naples to Davie is only 1 h 35 min.
