GATFs are late bloomer I guess. They're alpha predators. They live long and get big so they won't have confidence until getting like 12", unlike VATF. It also depends on tank size (bigger is better) and tankmates (non-aggressive) to make them feel safe.

i house him in a 370 to 400 gallon tank n he is only like 3 inches 4? n the only tank mate he has is a pleco.

Put smaller Tinfoil Barb or Bala Shark in there. He's too lonely then.

Snake head isn't compatible species.

Use only one of this Barb (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii):

And another one of this Albino Barb:

Too many Barbs and they'll form a pack and eat everything or even smacking each other, leaving GATF alone so use only ONE of each.

Bala Shark won't grow faster though. Mine still sits at 5" while my GATF grew. It got bit from time to time but nothing serious.

alright soo one barb and a bala shark will do great as tank mates? im just concerned tat my goliath injures the barbs n or the bala shark n they end up dying as i feed my goliath live feeder fishes

Any update on the Goliath?

Would you think that a wavemaker or a powerhead of some sort would be the solution to not make him hover in just one spot?
