Guys thank you so much for for taking the time to give such sound advice. I think I will let the Lent idea go for the time being. It was a hard thing to turn in the Jar. My three year old daughter is still asking where Hennessy (The Jars name) has gone, but at least she didn't get to see him cut one of the loaches in half. So I would rather play a safer bet this time, as was mentioned there are no garantees with fish. We always knew keeping a Jar with other fish was a slim bet at best. The direction we move in next will be something we think on a long while.

Peanut it is amazing you mentioned the Acutirostris I was researching them a bit this afternoon, inspired by the pictures of Scatocephalus's specimen, a fantastic looking fish.

So what I am thinking about at this time is this. Add an Acutirostris when available, replace the Scarlet Pleco (the fish Hennessy sent to the big aquarium in the sky). Have five or six cave areas. and possibly add one or two SA cichlids, preferably thoose that will be happy in the upper parts of the aquarium as my tank is tall 72"x18"x31".

I was tempted to try Discus, another fish I have always wanted to keep but I dont think my tank is really set up for them I have aproximatly 8 time per hour turn over and certainly young discus would look like they were in a wirpool like that.

Again thanks folks, this site and people who frequent it are awesome, I confess the last time I kept fish the internet was called the tellenet, and your best source of info was magazines the LFS guy :WHOA:.

Yours trully
Clyde

you dont really know what your getting in a fish til it's in your tank. I've seen/had nice fish be mean and vice versa.

If ya want a Lent, get it about 7-8" unless you're getting rid of the Oscar then ya can go smaller.

I definately agree, but there are some generalities that can be made:

Not too many guppies are savage killers, and I have never heard of a sweet heart Trimac! :WHOA: (Not saying they couldn't exist though) ;)
