Hey everyone, only new to the site but am currently looking for something big and fairly easy to get hold of as im in australia, have a pair of oscars 1 red longfin and 1 tiger red both at about 15cm's but want something more interesting.Im looking into the jardine saratoga "arowana" sort aggressiveness, would love some suggestions cheers

Take a look at some of the people's fish on this site. They are awesome, and quite different from what I'm used to seeing. Flowerhorns and Peacock Bass are a couple of the popular ones on here. Idk about availability though, especially in your region as I'm nowhere close to you. I would check out some of the photo threads on here to get some ideas. Hth, Lance.

I've had dozens of fish, and my oscar was one of the most interesting...
what exactly are you looking for?

Im looking for something abit more aggressive and to start something different, oscars are very common here so easy to get over quick.i was thinking maybe, peacock bass, saratoga or a barramundi or murray cod but would like something different like a royal ghostknife etc

try a texas cichlid, probably not very common around you and so onery they'll attack plants and wood. you'd have to get rid of the oscars though. haitian cichlid is about the same.

Ive got 2 texas already at about 4cm,i had a problem with my oscar mistaking the smaller texas for food lol,but apart from that there fine together.was thinking about a murray cod a mate had one at 6cm and it almost killed his jardine wich was a 8cm.i brought a barramundi today to try,ive got him in a 50ltr tank to start off with then im going to beef him up so hes ready for the oscar lol.I live in coffs harbour dan

I got my Murray about 18 months ago, also got a barra at same time. Both were around 5cm mark. Barra lasted 2 days before the Murray beat the crap out of it. the Murray is now 20cms and has the 4ft tank to himself.
