I know that here in the U.S. snakeheads are illegal but I was wandering if there were any fish like snakeheads that are legal here.

I read the sticky about the ban and about how I shouldn't ask for them but I am hopping that doesn't apply to my question. If so I guess I'll see you in a month!:nilly:

Ps. Sorry for the terrible spelling.

bowfin...in a few month i may be able to get you some...depending on NC's regulation on them...

I have not researched it personally but was told by a store owner that in my state you could buy and own them as long as they are from this state and don't ever cross state lines. I don't know if they breed in captivity but if they do that would be a legal way to own them in my state. Also if someone had them in state before the ban and wanted to sell them it would be OK as long as it stays in state.

What store?

What store?

Aqualand. It is a LFS in Des Moines, IA. They where not selling them it just came up in a conversation with the owner. We were trying to put an ID on an African cichlid, I was interested in. I finally said I would give it shot and give it a positive ID later and not bring it back as long as it wasn't a snake-head or something else illegal to have. Then the conversation started.

there's gotta be a way to find them in the us right? i know id keep them, just not tell anyone about it. if i could find an argus in the uk id be there
