what's the difference?

the Deep Red Trim on the Fins is the obvious physical difference. there's other more technical data with origin area and such i'm sure but i don't know enough about the species to get into that. also if you look at any average Gold saum here you can see the much more vivid and total marking of scales (everywhere and super green) where as average saums have smaller and less amounting amount and have a light blue/green tint rather than fullout green. Not sure the size difference between Reds and Golds, but MM's wild Golds are roughly the same size. (captive grown i have not seen over 10-11".)

spot on with that comment though. last fish he sold me were supposedly 1.5-2". when in fact i'd put them a 1/4"-1/2".

He's great quality and the MOST reliable shipper i have had experience with so i really don't mind. (get's some REALLY cool and UBER rare guys in ever now and then. Beani's, That rare iranian cichlids i forgot the name of...etc.

cool, i bought a 4-5 inch red suam from Jeff, its very bright orange, but there is nothing red about it, its jsut a regular gold saum like we are used to seeing, but wild caught and with very nice colors. jeff told me to let it adjust and the finage would turn red, not so much, i saw this fish for sale that you got, its worth $200, but dont expect actual red, more like a deep orange
