Personally I would love to see the UFC get crushed...

Dana says he wants to show that it is civilized people he has fighting for him, yet in his reality show he has a bunch of fighters locked in a house with each other and booze and there is always fighting and destruction of the house show the exact opposite of what Dana says he wants...

Death to UFC!!!

Also UFC rarely has heavy weight fights, but almost all the other brands sports heavyweights... ever since cro-cop showed up "to dominate the heavyweights" UFC hasn't had any or very few heavyweight fights...

too many org's is a bad thing.... talent will be spread too thin.... too many good fighters will not be able to compete against one another.......:( Affliction's got some big names.... but you need new talent to build a solid organization......

Agree..

To me it also makes the sport not look so respectable to people on the outside.. Now every channel has their own MMA organization.. Doesn't mean those orgs have any talent, they just have an organization.. They're trying to make MMA into a "show" too much. Everyone wants to cash in.

agreed^2. out of all the non-UFC orgs, i have hopes for affliction. once you have the bigger names, the newbies will want to go there to prove themselves. but if the talent is spread too thin, the sport won't evolve.

i don't mind the "show" aspect as long as its done well. i think japan had it down to a science. over there it more about character and chrisma than WWE drama i miss the genki/gomi entrances, the sakara weigh in-s, even the announcer chick (whos with dream now :). while its entertaining, it never took away from the fight.

I also have some hope for this ppv, but the problem is, these guys wont last forever. To be successful you need to have the "farm" system, and that's where the UFC dominates everybody else.

thats iron ring
pretty funny to watch
i seen one episode with lil john
he was in the corner yelling "yeaha" "in lil john voice" to his fighter
sounded like he was about to bust out rapping
i was---> :ROFL::ROFL:
rappers pick a fighter for their "team" is how it goes i think
:screwy:
:grinno:

iron ring is a joke,.............. the thought of rappers being cornermen or coaches is rediculous, i saw a fight for the first time last night. they only go one round for like 3 or 5 min. i like watching a fight just because i'm a fan but i didn't know it was for only 1 round. i have to just bare thru the bullsh*t rapper cornering stuff,...........

so why do they even have a Heavy Weight belt? Randy is going to retire before he even gets to defend it again...

Not only that. Some of that is not Dana's doing. If two guys don't get along, then they don't get along. Like the Mac Danzig/Jrock vs whoever last year. No drinking was involved, just personalitys/maturity levels clashed.

Also I think Dana wants to show in the ring that he has civilized people fighting for him. People that have technique, skill, training. Not just an all out street fight like it used to be. They got a bad rap from that, the business wasn't successful and it led to people like John Mccain pushing for banning the sport.
