If I have multiple species of malawi cichlids in my tank, although more then one of each. can they breed, or will the other species eat the eggs???

Somr first time mothers do end up eating the eggs after about a week or so. The other fish, as previously stated, will not eat the eggs unless the mother spits them out.
Make sure you have more than enough rock cover otherwise you might find the other fish chase the holding mother to try and get her to spit out her eggs or young fry.
I normally leave my mothers in the main tank for 1-2 weeks then I place them in a breeding net, which I hang off the side of the main tank. I leave them in there for around 2-3 days after spitting out the fry, feeding her 3x per day, before returning her to the main tank. I find thid works extremely well for me. Good luck!!:naughty: :woot: :headbang2  :clap

CAN and WILL breed. If you leave the fry in the tank, you probably end up with free fish food for your big fish. Maybe some will find a way to hide and survive.
