You got something to say?

Let me clarify:

Ive heard that there is no such thing as an australlian leichardti, its just another name for a jardini

Try harder not to derail my thread.

Heterotis niloticus is african arowana as for leitchartdi yes they're real I had one for awhile in my opinion much better looking than Jar's also called spotted arowana has pink spots in the middle of each scale. As for Africans I'd love to find one too. Depending on location though it could be next to impossible to find one. I know it is in my area. If I se one I'll let you know though.

I've always just assumed scleropages leichardti was the african arowana.
If I come across any I'll let you know as well.

didn't mean to derail.
the only vendor bringing in Leis is Rich from IA and for some reason I have the feeling that this year is not going to happen.
Based on my experience Leis are more tamed than Jars, but this can also depend on the individual fish.
The scientific name for african aro is Heterotis niloticus
GL to you

6th ave got em upstairs. They have about 3 and their only about 2" @ $20. Not 100% sure its a real african but that's what they labeled it as. They're upstairs in those small ass box tanks.

I wish Rich was back :(

After you guys set me straight on the Leis, I did some research. I was never into jars because of the aggro problems, and I've never bothered with them because I've never wanted one.

At this point, I think I would like to get either one:naughty:I really had no idea about the australian lei....I love the body shape on the jars.

They are definitely African Arowanas. They’ve had the same 3 there for the past 3 weeks.

Thanks
