African Arowana...

IMO, an African arowana is like an arapaima that only gets to 3 feet. This impression is bolstered by the recent reclassification of the family Osteoglossidae, in which Arapaima gigas and Heterotis niloticus were removed and placed in the new family Arapaimatidae.

he looks "SWEET" ODDBALL How long did he take to get that big??? Are they as quick growing as other Aro's ????

He's a little over 2 y/o in these pics. He's 4 y/o now.

Growth rate (on this one) is comparable to other aros. Got him at 2" and he reached the one foot mark by year's end.
