I'm setting up an African biotope tank. The fish are kind of loose biotope but here's the stocking I'm thinking of
1-African butterfly fish
1-leopard ctenopoma
6-Congo tetras
3-minnows
1-Senegal bichir
1-delhezi bichir
1-cutteri cichlid(she's female and I've never had an aggressive female).
The tanks a 55 gallon but I'm going to upgrade to a 75. The only thing I really wanted to add was an African knife fish. Could I have one of those with this stocking?
So far the plan for aquascaping is lots of manzanita wood. I have a piece comming in the mail. For plants I will have vals, anubias, and African water fern. I want a floating plant but I can't find any from Africa.
For substrate I can't decide whether I want a black or white sand. I want a dark feeling but with the tannins from wood and tannins from the leaves I plan on adding I don't know if the black would be too dark. Any ideas on that?
