They're generally peaceful and can mix well in a community tank

I have mine in a 29G and he has already reach full size of 8in. 29 is more than enough for a single ABK.

this guy is out all the time but is way meaner than my pike cichlid.

Good enough room..although it might depend on how many fish you have him in there with..and if you have enough hiding spaces (driftwood rocks or decor) to relieve stress..nice looking knife.

Mine gets along with 5 goraumi ...two who are very aggressive..the blue one chased him the first day...but after a day the ABK became the tank boss..in the sense that no one ever chases him...he is the only fish that doesn't get chased around the tank..him and the blue and this one pink kisser....the Blue Gourami sometimes backs him up...but the blue is afriad to fully chase him.


So yeah..they make good com fish...your pike chilid started it!...and got dealt with...always bet on black!
