how big do they get? can you keep them with small cichlids (firemouths, severums, festivums) in a 55 gallon tank? i heard they dont get as big as other knifefish.

Supposedly they get to 12" but I've never seen one over 7". Mine has been stuck at 5" for years now. I house mine in a mixed 120g comm tank with a bunch of relatively peaceful cichlids so one should be fine with the combo you suggested.
i dont have room right now for a black ghost but when i do im getting one lol. wat do they eat? will they eat cichlid pellets? because i cant feed just live food because i dont have my license yet.
btw can anyone post some pictures of some full grown ones and especiallly some small ones because i want to make sure it really is a brown knifefish because i dont want to end up with a different one that gets 3 feet long or something lol
do you think if i asked the petstore what theres ate and to ask them to feed them they would? becuz i dont want them telling me they "can" eat pellets when they wont.
