I've never tired feeding mine chicks before. I did however feed him a small rat and about a dozen adult dubia roaches the other day. I swear this species never gets full!

Not alot of meat on them but feel like they'll be less fatty.


Wish my lady would let me keep roaches again.

I love watching them just close their eyes and lunge for it, LOL.

He just got a mouth full of coco fiber from a missed attempt before this video was taken, that's why he was moved to the water dish

Do you ever let him out for a "hop"? Do they need excercise? That was really pretty cool!

Only time you get some exercise is going after nightcrawlers in the plastic feeding bin.

Did he make anoise after eating it? Something like a grunt?

Not sure if that was him or me making it. But they do make sounds similar to that.

is that blood in the water, i remember hearing they had teeth on their lower jaw...

That's the coco fibers. They have three odontoids on the button jaw that can inflict serious damage.
