i want to put one in my 125 with my oscar and jack dempsey. both are friendly to surface dwellers that are bigger than 2"

i keep hearing that they are finicky and easily get sick.
so my question is, would it be ok in the same water parameters you keep SA cichlids in? like, hawaiian tap water without flouride/chlorine/ PH on the hard end (mildly)?

i never add water softener and i wouldn't because i have hardwater fish.

yes. this one had no hits and i was in a rush because they go fast each year and my shop has them now. that post is the one i look at.

I have substantial experience with these fish after 10 years working at LFS, and owning 15 tanks...like I said in the previous thread, it probably won't work. A peaceful 4" surface dwelling fish won't stand up to a pair of 10-12" hungry ciclids...but then again who knows? It might be fine...there is a certain MFKer with tetras and a gourami living in her piranha tank...

also reading your sig, your aro will definitely eat it, and the cichlids will try to pick at it.

no ****. lol

i was just given the aro back by my stepdad >_<... hes taking down his 500 acrylic.

moanalua pets sells them. they are in stock right now.

oh and guy with the lung fish on avatar, it depends on the species of piranha and how much they get fed because in the case of red bellies they aren't "aggressive" per say to fish out of their own species, but if they do get hungry those fish will be gone.

my friend actually kept an oscar with his red bellies for 5 years and they ate him because he came home 3 hours late.

The butterfly fish isn't going in my 125 its going in my 30. just haven't moved my ass to get it yet.
