They are loosely related to arowana, in the bony-tongued family. They don't do much, but are ambush predators. They get about 5" max and are somewhat easy to breed in the right set up. Most will only take live food.
It's from Africa, needs subdues lighting. Gets to be about 5-6 inches. Eats anything (mine takes flakes). Very cool fish to have, but make sure it doesnt jump out of the tanl
theyll eat any kind of bug u throw in, and its pretty hard to get them to eat anything else like flake foods,
there very cool fish and they love crickets and house spiders!
i had a few that would take flakes ocasionally and would take little fish that got to close to there mouths but there care is pretty basic, there adaptable to a wide ph range and pretty hardy...
only thing u should worry about if u pick 1 up is u cant have any openings because they will find the smallest opening and jump right out they actually jump and glide from puddle to puddle in there natural habitat....
very easy to breed, a shallow and wide rubbermaid bin is perfect with lots of cover plants ..
