Yea I'm thinking about getting one. I think they are pretty cool.

Anyone know if they will take frozen bloodworms?

And what is their temperament?
They will eat blood worms, and their temperament is mild. I have had mine for three years now. Great fish to have.

not too aggressive
will accept most floating foods but prefers live foods insects guppies etc.
reach about 5-6" great for community tanks or low-mid aggressive tanks with similar size tank mates
can be slow to heal but are very rarely bothered in most compatible tanks
Some floating plants or wood would be appreciated, though if they are given the option they will tend to hide
great for a semi aggressive small oddball tank

They look cool, but are boring. They are not very active, they sit motionless at the top mostly. Also be sure not to have a tank with alot of water movement, they dont like that. They can jump too, so make sure you have a really good lid on it.

Simply a great fish IMO. If I started a smaller tank back up I'd for sure get one again.
Mine would eat floating pellets but wouldn't take the effort to go after them. He really liked freeze-dried plankton.

Pretty cool fish. Seems to be getting along with most of the stuff in my tank. Black molly was kinda bothering him earlier though.

they take hikari flpoating food sticks right away, at least my lfses did when i asked them to be fed

I have 3 of them in my tank! I think they are great.

Mine all eat floating pellets, bloodworms, etc... but they LOVE dried krill.

I have 1 that likes to hide, the other 2 are like puppies... they know when it's feeding time. The 1 will go down and go swimming like crazy in the tank, and then ambush the food from underneath. (I think he learned that from my RTSNX haha!)

I love them. My fiance thought they were ugly when we bought the first one, but he thought they were pretty neat that he bought 2 more!

I just still can't figure out how to determine the sex.

So far I've not had them even try to jump.. So hopefully yours won't either!

Good Luck man!!!! :headbang2

they are top level water predators, meaning they spend most of their time in the surface passively waiting for something to be snatched.
