You made need males and females of the same fish, or otherwise the only breeding will be cross-breeding. Africans are so cool. goo luck.

looks like you got 2 female peacocks, ylab and a YT acei, none of which will breed. get more y-labs, they are very easy to breed. they are a good way to get your feet wet in AC breeding. and when you get them, the bigger the better.

and when you do, add some tubing and flower pots for security, they wont breed if they dont feel safe

For breeding go and find someone that you know has good fish, buy 1 male and 3 female peacocks and put them together. You will have fry in no time.

As for you current peacocks, well I would say you have a male Aulonocara jacobfreibergi, area unknown. And other might be a sub dom male, or an unknown mix of a female. That said you wont get any money for breeding those fish.

The stones are really enough for peacocks, heck they will breed with just decent water conditions and an glass tank. IE change water say once a week, ~30 %. There is plenty of advice out there go read some. After that get some fish that you know people will want. (A good lwanda group would likley be the best in my opinion.)

Then have more tanks to be able to grow fry fish out... and you wont be able to keep batches together very well. And remember it is only for your enjoyment, don't think about get a profit for it...

alright i will get some more females. Thanks for the female. by the way will the other fish eat the eggs or the baby fish?

do i have to put them in a different tank?

you'll have a better chance of the surviving if you remove them but if you leave them in the main tank, you'll still end up with fry. i never remove them. i let it be

I agree with Toe if you want to do Peacocks (aulonocara) get a couple of rocks and do 20-30% water changes once a week. Try to make the water a little warmer then what is in the tank, that will trigger your females into becoming ripe (producing eggs). So back at the beginning you need a male and at least 3 females to keep the aggression spread out. You do have 2 male Jacobfreibergi (eureka reds??) it looks like. A male Ps. Acei, and a female Lab. Caeruleus. Decide what you want to breed and go from there....
