Malawi females look so much alike that its not fair to ask the species according to such a small picture. Do you have a photo of the male?

This is a Protomelas species propably Taeniolatus type(definitely not steveni)

This is a male. It's also an "uncommon" fish that you don't see too much.
 
unless it's a juvi or it's fins have been bitten off, that's definetly a female... still looks familiar though...
