i have red zebra, acie, kenyi, and electric yellow and they enjoy a feeder from time to time, good choice? also when i introduce only one feeded they seem to ignore him, but when i put in say 3 at a time they kill and eat them, any reason for this "selective aggresion"?

probably feel threatened with territories, like the feeders might try to start a colony or something. As for what the OP was asking, it has lots to do with what kind of Africans they are. Mbuna for example can develop digestive problems from eating too much protein, and actually do better with less protein in their diet. Spirulina is a better option to supplement their pellets

now if i cut back on the protein the red zebra will benefit in the long and i will dodge digestive problems but then the other fish miss out on the protein they need. any suggestions for a happy medium of live food mixed with veggie or something along those lines

Procambarus species get killed whit in minutes by my male front.
But my adult cherax is left alone, for about a 4 weeks now.
I must admit ,i am feeding the fronts a lot more protiens

you may have to get creative in ways to get the protein to the proper recipients. zebras with too much protein are known to have problems with bloat. perhaps you can find a food that is a happy medium and you can supplement with extra protein periodically. you may also try using a veggie clip but idk how much luck you would have with that

Ya I would not risk an EB Crayfish. I usually put a couple crays in my 55 every year with my africans, and they are all gone within a few months. They just can't stand the attacks when they molt.
