African Clawed Frog

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I keep the dwarf speices but they are pretty much the same my waters at room temp and i use a filter no probs i feed frozen blood worms and the gel packages of worm from tetra he gobbles them up the gel keeps it all together ..

I have not kept them but a rapid weight loss in frogs is often parasitic nematodes and can be cured by feeding with live earth worms injected with fenbendazole or levamisole, I do not know the exact dosage rates, some where around 30-50 micrograms per kilo of frog weight. Do a google looking for african clawed frog disease nad I am sure you will find a link, Surinam toads get the same thing.

I have one in a 30 gallon with my cichlids, she seems to be doing great. I use frozen blood worms and use a turkey baster to put them right in front of her so its not all eaten by the cichlids...seems to work well.
