African Ghost Knifefish possible buy

i could take the bullhead out temporarily and keep him with the shiners while the knife grows bigger than him then put the bullhead back in.

Not really...are we talking this fish, Black Ghost Knifefish:

Or X. Nigri...African Knifefish, African Brown Knife, etc etc:

X. Nigri is much more peaceful than BGK..to be honest I threw some feeder guppies in for my 5" X. Nigri and he didn't bother them, haha. I'm sure after a while he would have, but they are pretty good community fish. BGK on the other hand can be iffy...but I would be wary about housing that bullhead with them (and the other fish). They do grow pretty slow (BGK grows verrrry slow).

They have different Common names, and African Ghost Knife is just one of the few.
Anyway, as said in other posts, they are fairly peaceful, and may not bother the Shiners at all, but as I have said many times before, there is always the risk.

These would be apatisers at first but after it grows to full size...they all could be gone with a smile.

I have two knifes and I had 14 full grown Giant Danio. One week later and I have 1 Giant Danio. The knifes are 11 and 9 ",s long and hunt after everyone is sleeping. Speed don't mean **** when you are asleep.

11" African Knife? Looks like you got the wrong species for the discussion. Although they can get to 12", they have normally never been seen at such size, other than in the wild. This just sounds too aggressive to me to be an African Knife... but I could be wrong, lol.

are you talking about your clown knives? bc im talking about african ghost knifefish not clown knifefish.

my knife fish gets guppies and he's about 7 inches. but he doesn't mess with any other fish in my tank
