At least you can still get them in austrailia. Bogwoodbruce has been looking for one forever, cant imagine how much he is going to have to pay to get one in england.

ive in england 2 just about 100 miles away from bruce but ive found 4-6" babys for £16.50-£35 and they will ship so not that much and ive seen 1 about 12" for £70:D

I almost got one a couple months ago. Once I get my ornate in a big tank, I'll probably get a giraffe and some other big African fish to do a big biotope setup

My giraffe is ~23" now and my most aggressive cat. (I also have a ID, niger, tsn and rtc) Very interesting cat but it seems its "friendly" image is abit unjustified.

here's my guygal at around 15" or so. paid $20 about a year ago at about 4".

nice and peaceful during the day, just hangs out in it's pvc pipe. during feeding, it goes wild, and anything that gets near the food it's goin for gets chased until felt fit.

what do you look for to sex?

i honestly dont know what to look for to sex them. I know it can be done. breeding is even possible, but ill look into it and get back to you.

BTW amazing price. im super jealous of what you got em for.

couldnt find anything on visual sexing. Everything was either upon dissection or right around breeding.

Lucky still. The only one i've ever seen in person i own. and i've been to just about every fish store on the western slope of colorado.

i have a 19-20incher. came with my 220 deal. so didn't really pay for the fish. really peaceful but with a monster appetite. very active for a catfish in my experiences. i have seen one other, about 7-8in in a display tank at my lfs. a truly great fish
