Does anyone have any pics of the African brown/black knives full grown? I have read conflicting accounts of maximum size. From 8" to 12". I'd really like to see what one looks like in that size range, the bigger the better obviously. I plan on getting one for my 100G long that I am setting up. It will be primarily polypterus with some other african species to fill in the voids. Thanks. John

Anyone?

the local petsmart had some pretty large ones last time i was there (at least 6 inches), you might want to check at yours for some.

I've seen some probably 5-6 at the Petsmart, but I want to see some of the fabled 8-12".

I had one that grew to 8" I've never seen a 12" but you never know...;)

So in reality, it sounds like the general consensus is that they don't reach the 12" that is often quoted. Oh well, guess theres not much I can do about that.

Record size in the wild is about 15", the largest i've seen was probly about 9" tip-to-tail. It would thrive in a 100g, just give it some cover.
