How do I get my guy off feeders and onto pellets. He likes softer food and is shy and won't go towards the surface for floating pellets and the Plecoptera eats the sinking ones help

Lay off the feeders for awhile and just keep offering the pellets and eventually he'll get hungry enough to eat them. You could try soaking them for a little bit to soften them up. Mine likes the Omega One sinking shrimp pellets and also the Hikari floating cichlid pellets.
