Have any yall ever had any experiance with the african leaf fish? Pics, care info, ect.

I have one and its an awesome fish. I would recommend that you buy one small and grow it. If you buy it large, they tend to be on feeders and are next to impossible to get off of them. Not only that, but I once bought a leopard ctenopoma already large. The thing was MEAN! It didn't get along with anything in the tank save the fire eel and I had to get rid of it. I think it was because it was hooked on feeders and that made it aggressive. The one I currently have is nearing the 6-inch mark and I bought it a year ago when it was maybe an inch-and-a-half long. Its never had feeders and eats pellets, krill and chopped earthworms. They get up to about 7 inches. One guy on here claims to have a leopard ctenopoma at the 8 inch mark, if I remember correctly. They go well with mildly aggressive cichlids like severums. Mine will chase the silver dollars every now and then, but backs down from the larger severum in the tank. If you're going to put it with something like an oscar, make sure the ctenopoma is in the tank first with dither fish and get the oscar smaller than the ctenopoma (not TOO small to be lunch though). When the oscar surpasses it in size (and it will quickly), they should be good buds.
