Hi guys, was planning 1 odoe, 1 vittatus, 1 tatauia 1, flagtail and a lima shovelnose cat in a 7'x30" tank. Anybody see any issues here? One concern is, I've seen young african pike beating on young atf on youtube. My experience also with african pike is they are mean to certain fish, my old 12" odoe was beating on my 14" malabaricus but was fine with others like cichla. So, any comments suggestions are welcome

Not surprising since in Nature the ATF and Odoe are direct competitors to one another, hence the reason why they separate themselves into different bodies of water.

In my experience it's the other way around. Atf beating the odoe. You should add dither fish if you want them both in your tank. Tinfoils/Myleus would do

Have you experienced having them together before? Do you think it happens in all cases or is there a possibility of it working out?

Mine works out fine. 2 odoes with 3 different atf species.

I see.. so possible for either to beat on the other.. Yeah I guess some dithers would re-direct the aggression.. Thanks!

I would say compatibility is not the norm. If you are fine with the cost of losing or rehoming one of them, then go ahead and try it.

Dithers work out with me. Instead of beating each other, they would rather swim with the dithers. Without dithers they would beat each other out. Atf to atf or atf to odoe pike
