Just my experience and thoughts.

My opinion is not the law, just a recommendation for the OP.

I think I see faster growths with live more often though, there's a guy in the catfish section bought 3 tigs I think around 3" one won't accept prepared food only takes live, other two accept frozen foods, the two are 7-8" I believe and the other one is 10-11". This is off if my memory my numbers may be slightly off. But the one who only ate live was significantly bigger I remember.

I'll try to find the link.

These guys are growing pretty steadily for me they're all about the same length but there's one that's not as thick that gets bullied on. What would be a good medium sized bottom feeder to go with these guys?

Knife fish could work as a mid/bottom feeder, maybe synodontis as well since they live in similar habitats.

My knifefish used to practically ignore pellets, they are getting used to it now, and actually feeding on semi-sinking granules almost off the surface when the lights are on! It took me about 3 months to do

Synodontis, could work, I'm not really a big fan of them but I'll have to look more into them.

What type of knife are you talking? Brown?

How shy/skittish is your knife? This tank is in a high traffic area. I might just go with a knife and plecos as bottom feeders unless I can find something that I like better.
