thanks for the replies! i just got 1. about 7".. sir gucci, how long have you had yours? is he active? what does he eat? mine's in a 75gal solo.. any suggestions for tankmates or is solo the way to go?

I have mine for about 8 months i think.
he eats everything that hits the water.

mine is fine with other fish that arent the same colour and/or shape.
Oh and a 75g will be to small in no time.

hmm i was thinking of getting one myself a while back...how has yours acted so far in your tank?

i only had him for about 6 days now.. still kinda skittish, he's moving around though.. and he won't take prepared food.. he wants it alive, i had to quarantine some guppies for him..

mine won't eat non-live food, did you train yours or did he readily accept whatever you give him? nice oscars and puffer.. i didn't know you could mix puffers with anything.. i think i'm gonna go solo, and yeah i can upgrade when needed.. thanks for your answering my q's!

I just took a shrimp and as soon as it hit the water, he ate it. He is always the first because he is much faster then any of my other fish. Didnt had to train him.

I personally think that enable to keep a fish for 5 years is actually a long time, so u should get one if u like the fish and can spend 5 years looking after it. It is pretty rare for Odes grow over 25cm in home aquariums, larges one are rarely seen.
