im getting one in the future and i was puzzled when i was looking at this video...

she states that when these torts get lumps on theyre shells its a sign of too much protien..
but on this site these torts have lumps on theyre shells

which is one of the reasons why i feel these animals are so attractive
did she mean something else?
or do all of these have the lumps on theyre shells?

The lady in the first video is correct and all of the larger tortoises in the photos of the second link have piramidism
Congratulations on your new pet choise, these are inded deligth full toises but first I must ask you this: do you realy want a tortoise that poops and pees like a horse, that will eat every single plant it finds in her way, that will bulldose your back garden to make it look like something has exploded in there, that can get you a back hernia if you try to pick her up by yourself and will increase dramaticly your electricity and veggy bills? Do you have a indor room to make into a "terrarium" for the winter months? Are you willing to make a list of your garden plants and get rid of the toxic ones? And are you willing to have this responsability for the next 80 years or so? this are all stuff you must think before getting one

Litle ones poop alot like any fast growing animal. What you must understent is that this guys get big fast and that the "bigger you are the bigger you poop". And yes big ones big ones make big piles of horse like poo every few days if not every day for that mater. They eat alot and all that comes in must come out is the rules of life. If you ask me I think pee is the worse,it takes much more time to clean than poo that can be taken in one chunk. Turts often excrete chunky pee caled urates but when they soak or drink alot the do it like everyone else. This is realy something to think about before getting one.
