I'm waiting on wetspot to get back to me now. I'm going with 10 redeyes and 3 congo garras. They arent as colorful as panda garras, but will add something a little different. Also will be adding a few crinium calamistratum for a little greenery.
Nothing that hasn't already been mentioned, African tetras/barbs are not as common as we would like.
I'm finding a handful of species for sale, I just cant find much on their habitat. Last thing I want to do is get a fish from calm pools and have them struggle with current.
Wetspot recommended Bryconalestes longipinnis, so I have 10 of those coming.
Nice choice. I got a group of six of these a couple years back from wetspot. After I lost two in my community, I suspected predation and isolated the remaining four. But interestingly enough it was the dominant pair doing the killing, as they took out the other two soon after being isolated. I theorized that a larger group may have been necessary to keep the peace.
Thanks for the feedback on these. Hopefully 10 will be enough for them to not kill each other. I really liked the redeyes, but wetspot only had 4 and no idea when they would get more.
I had planned on getting a group of these years ago, but a local store only had 1 when I found out what they were. They told me they would order more, but it never happened.
Np. I consider my experience somewhat of a failure with these fish, so I'm excited to follow along with yours because there is little info elsewhere on them and it seems you're committed to their success. Best of luck.
