Looks traumatic as the lower jaw looks a little rubbed on.

Keep ur water clean and add salt. Water numbers? What size tank is it in? Tankmates?

Dim the lights and get some floating plants. Reduce stress. Salt and keep ur water clean.

Water was clean and I'll add some salt to the tank he's in now. He was in my 40 gallon tank to grow out do to my big tank having a large bass in it. He already tried eating him! :( tank mates in that 40 are about the same size. 1 vampire fish, and 2 bass. They are only in that tank so they can grow bigger so my big bass won't eat them.

Were you trying to feed him pellet or something and they are all on your filter intake?
Pellets were for my flowerhorn. I had it as a open tank till my African tiger fish got hurt. Put the devider in and then the African tiger fish on the other side of my flowerhorn
