Vittatus is Def 1" per 3 months. I had 2 that grew at this pace.
 
I also think it is 1" 3 month..but that still depending on your tank size and feeding... bigger need alot of feeder..also new freshwater is needed for faster growth rate..
mine i can feel it is abit bigger as in longer.. but now the body is much more thick compare then i 1st bring it home
 
Most def. agree with how you feed your ATF.
If you keep a lot of feeders, he will grow faster. I had on Market Shrimp and they did not attack as much as feeders. So I think that made them grow a lil slower

I keep it in a 2ft tank with back and the side left and right cover with black sticker to reduce stress...overhead filter...small tank easier for it to catch the feeder...no place to go...and 1 pill of water is consider about 20% water change...

Whats the max size for ATF?
Just wondering, as stated in my payara thread I've got a 100 gallon that I plan to add 4 red tails too. Wondering if I could add an ATF or two...

The min for an Adult Vatf is about 240gl. So far I believe the biggest (on MFK) Vittatus is 18" (don't quote me on this cause there could be bigger)
 
hmm mabye it depends on the species or mabye what i've herd from people wasin't acurate
