I guess I got the worse of them. I had them when I first started. They were ok at first but got lazy as they grew. I got 2 of them up to 10 inches. They would attack(suck) my plecos that were even bigger. They would also lightly chase my swimming fish. I got tired of their nasty behavior and got rid of them and have never owned another one since(this was around 1991).

I haven't seen a10" algae eater ever..that's awesome. I suppose if a 10" any-fish was chase the others around it would bother me too. I have one currently innmy 180 at about 8" and it used to chase some of the other fish until he got the smack down from my 10" Clown Loach....not been a problem since.

That was back when I was feeding my fish 3 times a day and doing water changes every other day. The LFS owner was shocked to see them. He said he's never seen them that big before.
