There are other shellies.

look at these to help. I would say do a tall pile of rocks up the middle with little caves and attach plants. Also hook shells to the pile it would look great!

I would recommend shellie comps too. I love my guys.

Thanks for the link, very useful. How do I attach shells to a rock?? And what Kind of shells?

Why not go for a colony of yellow labs. That would look great. They are cheap and breed well. And most importantly peaceful.

I agree that they look great but.. It seems that everyone have them and I want something little more rarer.

A 55 gallon hex is too small for a group of yellow labs IMO. I think it is too small for any Mbuna. Shellies will be a good choice.

Thanks all of you for your advices. I will do some research and tell you later in wich direction the tank goes. But there will be a pile of rock with anubias and I will also look up these "shellies". Thanks and cheers :)

i would think yellow labs would get too big too. i've got some big ones in my 180 gallon.

ive never done tangs before, but id look into just picking a few species that would stay small and are compatible.. that would be the best. i wouldnt put any lake malawi (mbuna) in there... id do some high rockwork right in the middle, sand and shells as substrate and tangs...mike knows alot about tangs and could probably point you in the direction of a few good species..
